In this activity we will be visiting web sites for exploring Martinique.

2. Prepare a Creole recipe for the class.

3. Do a PowerPoint presentation of pictures from your visit explaining where you went and what you did.

4. Draw a series of 8"x10" (or larger) pictures depicting a chronology of your visit and present them as a "slide show" to the class.

5. Create and present advertisements encouraging tourists to visit this island. These ads could be in the form of short songs (jingles), slogans, or radio ads.

6. Write a personal ad for the newspaper, a web site detailing why you would like to meet someone from Martinique.

7. You have a vast amount of money to travel as a rich and famous person and how would you change your original itinerary.

  1. Ask students to give the location of Martinique on a world map and expand on their idea of what life is like on a Caribbean island.

  1. Ask students to find out the official language and other languages spoken on the island. Make a list of 5 Creole words with their French and English equivalents.
